Digestive fire or Agni, is responsible for processing and absorbing the foods we eat.
When the digestive fire is weak, we create Ama or toxins in the body.
Signs of Ama :
●Bad breath
●Coated tongue
●Dull appetite
●Delicate digestion
●Bloating, gas, constipation
●Generalized pain
●Fatigue
●Depression
●Susceptibility to infections
One of the simplest ways to rekindle the digestive fire is to eat small ginger appetizer before lunch and dinner.
Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients:
Thin slices of fresh ginger or grated ginger
½ of a fresh lime
½ tsp Himalayan salt
Peel the ginger. Cut into thin slices or grate ginger. Squeeze lime juice over the ginger. Sprinkle with Himalayan salt and mix. Transfer the mixture in glass jar. Allow the ginger to marinate in lime juice and salt for the day and then you can keep the glass jar in the refrigerator.
Eat a few slices of the ginger before both lunch and dinner.
