Ayurveda Buttermilk

In Ayurveda, digestive health is the source of whole body health. When your intestinal flora is healthy the symptoms like gases, bloating, constipation are rare, as a result your Ojas, immunity is stronger.


Ayurveda buttermilk is light, easy to digest and has healing properties.

Good for cooling Pitta and reduces heat during summer.

It helps to improve digestion and decreases gases, it is soothing to digestive tract. 


This preparation is used in many digestive disorders such as  IBS, Ulcerative Colitis. It’s used as a treatment for poor digestion, hemorrhoids, tumors, edema, diarrhea, anemia, and urinary diseases.


Ayurveda Buttermilk

Method:

  • 1 part - 1/4 cup of Yogurt

  • 4 parts - 1 cup water

  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder

  • a pinch of salt (Himalayan salt or rock salt)

  • Mint leaves optional


Instructions:

  1. Add yogurt, water, roasted cumin powder to a mixing bowl.

  2. With a hand blender or spoon, mix the ingredients.

  3. Add in salt to taste.

  4. Add some mint leaves for refreshing taste.

  5. Serve it at room temperature.

  6. Can be consumed after each meal.
